How it works
Three steps. You only do the first one.
Upload your invoices. This takes a few minutes.
Photo, scan or PDF — several invoices at once is fine. We read the invoice details for you: your company, your debtor, the amounts and the dates. Add your general terms and conditions and any payments you already received, check the summary, and you are done.
A lawyer serves formal notice on your debtor.
Your debtor receives a formal notice of default by registered mail within 24 hours (weekends and public holidays excluded). It comes from a Belgian law firm, in Dutch, French or English, and it claims the principal, the statutory interest and the recovery costs.
We collect, with a bailiff where needed.
If your debtor has not paid within 8 days, we start the judicial or the administrative procedure. For undisputed B2B invoices Belgian law allows collection through a bailiff without going to court, which is faster and cheaper. Money collected is transferred to you immediately.
Clear risk. Clear decision.
Before you spend money on a procedure: can your debtor actually pay?
Chasing a company with nothing left costs you more than it recovers. SolvaClear screens your debtor first and gives you, for a fixed price, one clear recommendation on your file — a score out of 10 and a yes or no on starting proceedings.
What is in the report
- Identification and status of the debtor from the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/BCE).
- The key figures from the most recently filed annual accounts — solvency, liquidity, and how they moved.
- Known attachments from the Central Register of Notices (CBB), with amounts and dates, split into preferential and unsecured creditors.
- Your claim weighed against the assets of the debtor and against the other creditors.
- One unambiguous conclusion: start proceedings or not, with a short reasoning.
- A gauge from 0 to 10 — from “do not spend the money” to “proceed”.
More than a standard credit report: we read the Central Register of Notices (CBB) for attachments other creditors already levied, we weigh your claim against what the company actually owns, and our lawyers work with AI-assisted document analysis — which is what keeps a full legal screening at €80.
What it costs you: nothing up front
Collect in Belgium works without a deposit and without a fixed fee payable in advance. Our costs are claimed directly from your debtor, on top of your invoice: 10% of the invoice amount, or €40 where that applies under your terms and Belgian law, plus any court costs. We settle them once the money has been collected.
If enforcement by a bailiff turns out to be necessary, you advance a deposit for that step only — and you recover it from your debtor.
What you claim back
- The principal of your invoice100%
- Statutory late-payment interestFrom the due date
- Fixed recovery compensation€40 minimum
- Our fee and the court costsFrom the debtor
Belgian Act of 2 August 2002 on combating late payment in commercial transactions. What you recover in practice depends on your general terms and conditions — upload them with your invoice.

Before you start: how collection works here
Belgian law gives creditors tools that have no equivalent next door — and deadlines that catch people out. The things we explain most often to clients abroad.
Late-paying customers in Belgium: seven measures that work
Whether an invoice gets paid is largely decided before it falls due. Seven measures — from invoicing on the day of delivery to the terms and conditions that decide what you may claim.

Judicial or administrative recovery? In Belgium the creditor chooses — and that choice determines what you recover
Belgium lets you recover an undisputed B2B debt through a bailiff, without a judge. That route is capped at 10%. On an €8,000 invoice eight months overdue, the difference is €1,360 against €800.

Transport invoices expire after one year. Not ten.
Under article 32 of the CMR Convention, claims from international carriage by road are time-barred one year after the invoice is issued. And article 31 often lets you keep the case in Belgium.

Frequently asked questions
What does it cost?
You pay nothing up front. Our fee is 10% of the invoice amount, or €40 where that applies, and it is claimed from your debtor together with the principal, the interest and any court costs. We settle our costs once the money is collected.
What if I have no general terms and conditions?
The claim still stands, but recovering our costs from the debtor becomes harder — in that case our fixed fee is charged to you. Upload your terms if you have them: it is the single thing that most improves what you recover.
How long before I am paid?
That depends on the behaviour and the solvency of your debtor. In many files payment follows shortly after our formal notice of default arrives.
What is the IOS procedure?
For undisputed B2B invoices, Belgian law allows recovery through a bailiff without a court judgment. It is faster and cheaper than litigation, and it is the route we take whenever the conditions are met — which is why we ask you to confirm that your invoice was never disputed.
What if my debtor disputes the invoice?
Tell us as early as possible. We will assess the file with you and advise on the chances of success before any further cost is incurred.
Is there a minimum invoice amount?
No. If you have doubts about your debtor’s solvency, though, it can be wiser not to spend money on a lost cause — say so when you submit the file and we will check for early signs of insolvency.
Is sharing my debtor’s details GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Everything you send is used solely to handle your collection file, and it is covered by the professional privilege of the lawyers and staff of Flex Business Law.
Can I stop the procedure at any time?
Yes. Do bear in mind that our fixed fee is due from the moment the file has been opened.
What if my debtor pays me directly?
Let us know as soon as possible so we can take the payment into account and stop any further step.
Can I check whether my debtor can pay, before I start?
Yes — that is what SolvaClear does. For €80 excl. VAT we screen the debtor: enterprise data, the latest annual accounts, the attachments other creditors already levied, and your claim weighed against what the company owns. You get a score out of 10 and one clear recommendation on whether proceedings are worth the cost.
What if my debtor goes bankrupt?
If bankruptcy intervenes we limit our costs with a 30% discount on our fixed fee, and we file your claim with the trustee.
Your invoice is due. Your debtor is in Belgium. Let’s start.
Upload the invoice and, if you have them, your general terms and conditions. We read the details, you confirm them, and a lawyer takes it from there.
